This is an interesting combination of cards, and I have to admit I’m a bit puzzled by them. My immediate interpretation is that there is a promise of great joy, an awakening of abundance that is beginning to take shape, but this arrival brings with it words of caution.
The Three of Swords is a card that is paradoxically straightforward and vague. It encompasses any and all forms of mourning, great and small, as individuals and as a society. Mourning is a process that every human being will move through at some point in their lives, and we all mourn in our own ways. The warning here is that when we are too close to the grief that comes along with loss of any kind for too long, we lose the ability to see the larger picture. The image on this card contains a red gash in the center, a wound, but it does not bleed, rather a drop of water comes forth. This signifies the promise of new opportunity or a transformation that comes from moving through the process of mourning and following through to what is awaiting on the other side.
The message here is whatever loss you are currently mourning, whatever you no longer have that is sticking in your mind, the time is approaching for you to be able to take a step through to the other side, to peer through the curtain and see what is coming next.
The Four of Wands is a card of structure and balance. Wands as a suit are all about movement and action, they are ruled by fire which can be destructive if not contained, but is also an invaluable tool to humankind when put to use in a respectful manner. We see a balanced image of two wands pointing up, and two down. There is a bubble with an eye at its center, being offered from a hand from above.
This is a card of great joy, something truly significant that you have been calling out for is on the way. The caution lies in the presence of the bubble, which is the only time we see a perfect sphere in nature, and bubbles do not last. This gift, this opportunity for growth and development that is coming is temporary. Be sure to appreciate it while it lasts, and carry the blessings and lessons it will bring with you into the circumstances that follow.
The Eight of Wands shows us an image of a group moving in perfect alignment with one another from the darkness of a cave upward into the light of the sky. Being in a reversed position, this card again brings a message of caution.
The message here is not to burn through the positivity, the gift or opportunity that is coming your way as shown in the Four of Wands. It may be tempting to take what is given and run wild with it, but it would be prudent to take time to savor it, take it in, allow it to be a part of your life for as long as possible so that, again, you can carry its blessings along with you.
